Neighborhood Nutrition Centers began collecting neighbor fresh produce in August and delivering to Ravenswood Community Services.

In the following 8 weeks, we are proud to announce we have supplied RCS’ neighbors with over 400 pounds of produce grown by our affiliate organizations: Waters Elementary School Community Gardens (202 lbs), Northside College Prep High School (129 lbs), and local neighbors through the One Square Foot program (73 lbs).

Last year RCS volunteers hosted more than 18,000 food pantry visits and served almost 6,500 meals to hungry people in our community. This year has not gotten better with hunger being the 400 pound gorilla in the room.
